MAKING LIFE EASIER

Packing your hospital bag can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re not sure what you actually need. The truth is, most mums either overpack or forget the essentials.
More than ever, you can find endless hospital bag checklists online and that in itself can lead to alot of confusion. My advice always is to pick just one and stick to it. Our simple, trusted hospital bag checklist covers everything you need for mum and baby, so you feel calm and prepared when labour starts. Click here for our downloadable, printable version.
The ideal time isbetween 32–36 weeks of pregnancy. However, if you’re having a planned C-section or high-risk pregnancy, aim closer to 30–32 weeks.
Broadly, there are 3 components to packing your hospital bag. I would suggest taking one component at a time, and that will make the task alot more manageable and feel less overwhelming:
1) Labour bag items - these are the items that you will need for labour or immediately after (for both you and baby) and ideally they should be packed in a small tote or backpack. They are kept separate from your main hospital bag items and hospitals ask that you use a small bag as medical staff do not want to be tripping over large bags in a delivery suite. You will see what you need for this in the first section of our checklist.
2) Main hospital bag items for baby - these are things like vests, babygros, nappies, wipes/cotton wool, towel etc. You will see a full list of all essential items for baby on our checklist,
3) Main hospital bag items for mom - items such as nighties/pjs, underwear, maternity pads, toiletries etc. Again, full list of essential items are on our checklist.
We also include a section of "additional items to consider" - they are not absolute essentials but many of them might help make life a little easier when you are in hospital (e.g. our best selling mini touch light for night feeds!)
While we don't specify these on our checklist (because, let's face it, you have enough to be thinking of!), it might be worth considering including these, or advising your partner to pack them:
Most mums use only half of what they pack. Focus on:
Many mums are now choosing pre-packed hospital bags or contents bundles so nothing is forgotten and everything is organised in advance — especially useful for first-time mums.
Consider using packing pods as they really help with the packing and help you avoid overpacking. We have the world's first hospital bag packing pods, which hundreds of our customers have purchased and found them to be a gamechanger.
If you have:
