SUPPORTING IRISH WOMEN SINCE 2017

Birth isn’t just a big moment for mum, it’s huge for dads and partners, too! Whether you’re there for moral support, back rubs, or baby cuddles, you’ll want to be prepared and present, not panicking about forgotten phone chargers.
Here’s what to consider packing in your own mini hospital bag:
1.Change of Clothes
You might be there a while (or overnight), and fresh clothes make a big difference after a long labour.
2.Snacks & Drinks
Hospitals often don’t provide food for partners. Bring high-energy snacks and water to stay alert and fuelled.
3.Phone, Charger, & Power Bank
You’ll be taking photos, sending texts, maybe even passing time during early labour. Stay powered up.
4.Toiletries
A toothbrush, deodorant, and face wipes can help you feel more human after a long stretch in the labour ward.
5.Something for Downtime
A book, headphones, or downloaded podcasts help during quiet moments when mum is resting. True story…my husband Stephen read André Agassi’s autobiography during my 26 hour labour with our first child and couldn’t put it down!!!!
6.List of Key Contacts
Mid-labour isn’t the time to scroll for your mum’s number. Have your contacts (and draft message too!) ready for birth announcements.
👶Ulluv Tip:Many partners use our printed hospital bag checklist to make sure that morning is forgotten from the hospital bag. It’s not just for mums, it’s for the team!!
