6 Things No One Tells You About Packing for a C-Section

f you’re preparing for a planned or possible C-section, your hospital bag might need a few extra essentials to support your recovery and comfort.

Here are 6 things no one really talks about—but every C-section mum is glad to have on hand:

1. High-Waisted Knickers

You’ll want soft, full-coverage underwear that sits comfortably above your incision. Avoid anything tight or low-rise. Carriwell do two different varieties of hospital panties that have been designed specifically to be gentle for c-section patients

2. ChooseNightdresses Rather Than Pyjama Bottoms

Pulling anything over your tummy post-surgery can be uncomfortable. Pack loose nightdresses or button-front gowns for easy movement and skin-to-skin.

3.Extra Pads (Yes, Really!)

Even with a C-section, you’ll still have postpartum bleeding. Bring a good stash of maternity pads, they’re gentler than regular ones. Also, a lot of customers find Kotex nighttime pads great for absorbency after a couple of days of maternity pads

4.Peppermint Tea Bags

It might sound odd, but trapped wind is a common (and painful!) post-op side effect. Peppermint tea can offer gentle relief.

5.Phone Charger with Extra-Long Cable

Regardless what type of birth you have, a phone charger with an extra long cable is crucial. But particularly post c-section, you won’t want to be reaching or twisting. An extra-long cable means you can stay connected without the stretch.

6.Support Pillow or Feeding Cushion

This can help position baby comfortably for feeding and provide protection if someone accidentally bumps your tummy.
