SUPPORTING IRISH WOMEN SINCE 2017
June 09, 2025 1 min read
If you were ever handed a pad in whispered secrecy or told any matter of things which basically said to keep quiet about it, you’re not alone. Many of us grew up with a mix of mystery, shame, or confusion around periods. At Ulluv, we want that to change — starting with open, honest conversations.
Here’s what we wish we knew:
1. It’s OK to Talk About It
Periods shouldn’t be a taboo topic. Talking openly helps normalise them.
2. Everyone’s Experience Is Different
Some girls have heavy flows, others barely spot. Some feel cramps, others don’t. There’s no single “normal.”
3. It’s Not Just Physical
Hormones affect your mood and energy. That’s part of the cycle too — and it’s okay to take it easy when you need to.
4. You’re Not Alone
Every woman goes through it. With the right support — like our first period kits — it doesn’t have to feel confusing or isolating.
Let’s raise girls who feel empowered, not embarrassed. Because knowledge really is power.
